I was under the delusion that Compact Flash was the leader in flash cards used in photography? What happened?

But the market clearly belongs to flash memory for now, Kane added. SmartMedia accounted for about 55 percent of digital camera storage and CompactFlash the bulk of the rest, according to IDC.

Binx,

re: The Battle Heats Up

IOMEGA CLIK!

The AGFA announcement is so old it has mold on it.

How many times can you re-release information before it starts getting rejected by newswires or on-line magazines???

In this instance (see bold type face above) I was referring to Iomega's Public Relations.

Binx and Thread,

There is a one-page article in American Photo Magazine in a section called Technology and Vision which is devoted to Iomega Clik! and the AGFA CL30.

The next page has a blurb on Foveon's newest studio digital camera which sports 3 separate 16 megapixel CCD's (one each for red, green and blue) with a Canon EF28-70mm xoom lens and a dedicated laptop. It looks rather freakish...not like a camera at all. It is clear that you wouldn't pack it with you on a hike at Yosemite. I don't even want to guess what file sizes are like.

In any case my next digital camera will need to be a true SLR equipped with 3 multimegapixel CCD's, exchangeable lenses, instantaneous recycle time and a ticket price of $299.99 or less.
