Identix Prevails in Global Biometrics Distribution With 26 Countries Adopting BioLogon Products
BioLogon 2.0 Draws 20 New Distributors, Indicating Worldwide Appeal for Biometrics Security
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 22, 1999-- Identix Inc. (AMEX:IDX - news), a worldwide leader in providing biometric authentication, security and identification solutions, announced that its BioLogon(TM) hardware and software products developed through its IT Security Division are now distributed by more than 20 distributors covering 26 countries worldwide.

With the introduction of BioLogon 2.0, 20 companies have signed distribution agreements with Identix to bring availability of the company's BioLogon IT products to global presence.

``Our global distribution network of mainstream IT channels sets the stage for Identix's products to achieve mass penetration. For the first time biometric products and technology can be easily accessed through traditional IT channels worldwide,' said Grant Evans, vice president and general manager of Identix's IT Security Division.

``We are extremely excited to announce our robust global distribution channels with new partners. We can already claim the first benefits of our distribution network with global market penetration underway. We believe global deployment of biometrics is further enabled by the aggressive price points and mass availability of BioLogon products.'

Identix's distribution network now spans Europe, Africa, North and South America and Asia, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Philippines.

Today, 26 countries have immediate access to BioLogon in bundled hardware and software products and developer's programs from preeminent distributors, such as Henaco A.S. of Norway, C2 Servicios in Spain, LAN Systems in Australia, Sistemas Tecnologicos S.A. of Argentina, Forval Creative in Japan, and e-commerce distributor, Beyond.com, in the United States.

``With BioLogon suite, Identicator has set a new standard for biometrics software and the user possibilities. With their products and product development they have earned the right to proclaim the title 'market leaders,' said Marios Hanaco, president of Henaco A.S. of Norway.

Available in five different languages -- English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese -- the BioLogon 2.0 suite performs across a range of applications across the world.

Network and computer access and locking; e-mail and Web site locking and unlocking; multi-layered security for use with smart cards and/or PINs; and storage of hundreds of application-sensitive passwords, enabled by fingerprint ease of use eliminating entire password usage are salient features that have enhanced the demand for the next generation BioLogon software.

Softline AG, one of Europe's premier software providers has adopted BioLogon 2.0 suite for its customers. ``We looked at many competitors and chose Identicator because it offered the best overall solution for our portfolio,' said Softline AG founder & CEO, Peer Blumenschein.

Jack 't Mannetje, vice president sales & marketing, Vierpool-ICT of the Netherlands said: ``The projects Vierpool-ICT is currently involved in prove the enormous market potential for easy to use biometric security solutions like BioLogon. Large organizations are selecting BioLogon for its ease of use and deployment, which allows large numbers of users to be up and running quickly.'

New channels for BioLogon products make them available both through traditional and online distribution sources. In all cases, BioLogon ships as a bundled hardware/software solution in a variety of applications: in stand-alone fingerprint readers, readers embedded in keyboards, or in PC cards that secure any laptop.

Brad,

Happy Holidays back at you!! And to the IDX thread, Thanks for all
your valuable input!!! May you all reap the returns your so richly
deserve.

Maybe, just maybe, today is a precursor of what is to come in the
year 2000. Maybe the rest of the world (outside of the chat sites), is
just starting to understand how big the biometric realm is, and more
importantly, that lil'o IDX is THE major player. 20 distributors
covering 26 countries worldwide, jeez, and who would have
thought...

Anyways...

Has anyone heard of these guys?? silvaconsultants.com Came
across them from this thread. Might be worthwhile looking in once in
a while...

remarq.com.
