Oh those hard driving Wisconsinites doncha know. I would have thought school would be out for the holidays by now. Mine were out last week Thursday.

Actually, Since my daughter actually had earned income over the last few years, we're planning on opening a self directed IRA for her before next April 15th. It will probably be an AIM account. I showed her an example a few months ago on how, if she deposited $2000 a year for the next 45 years and earned 8%, she would have well in excess of a million. That got her attention! She wants to start 2 years earlier than my spreadsheet example. Then it would be more than 2 million as I recall. Ahh! the miracle of compounding! Little does she know that with AIM she's probably looking at more than 8%.
Unfortunately, in 47 years, I probably won't be around to share in her good fortune. Wish I had learned that lesson back in '69 when I was her age.
