Intel Tech China's Flash Memory Output Tops Two Million
December 23, 1999 (SHANGHAI, China) -- The output of flash memory produced by Intel Technology (China) Ltd. reached two million units a month in 1999, doubling that of 1998.




The company, with an investment of nearly US$200 million, is the first enterprise established in China by major U.S. computer chip manufacturer Intel Corp.

The China branch began trial operations in 1998, and mass production began in the first half of this year.

The firm is located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Pudong, Shanghai, on an area of 150,000 square meters. It now has 800 employees and has become one of Intel's best production bases in the world.
