"is it too late to go back?"

of course it's not too late!

and let them use the very same guidelines and explanations that they applied to the roll out of this backwards beta format... that in a changing world, one must be willing to shift gears on the fly and adapt.

their thinking (in regards to this new format) is grotesquely flawed, and i'm willing to bet that deep down, many of them know it too, but no one wants to be the hero (because they think they'd be the goat) who stands up and says,

"we f*cked up, big time"

:)

>>Why is it a moot point? I would like BryanB to explain why we needed to create all these 'New" SI's in the first place.<<

Isn't it obvious? Go2net wanted to apply its own identity to the site, and make internal and external improvements. I think the intentions were good but the execution was flawed. The real question is, what to do now?

>>And if the majority are saying they hate the new sites and the reasons for their dissatisfaction, is it too late to go back?<<

Your suggestion might be feasible if only a small percentage are using the New SI. Do you have any solid information on what percentage of people are using the Old SI versus the New SI?

Right now Go2Net says the Old SI is going away. If so, I think this should be postponed until there is a MUCH better version of New Classic SI. To get there I think they will first have to correct some deficiencies in the New SI. I'll try to post my suggestions at the Think Tank thread on Sunday night.
