John, I agree with everything you said about Maffei. I in particular will miss his colorful and frank conference calls. I know little about Conners. I do know that he is heads down one of the best "bean counters" around and hence will do an excellent job managing Microsoft's investments. What I don't know is how he handles investor relations (sucking up to analysts) and whether he is a closer on deals. One of the things I truly liked about Maffei was his ability to find the right future investment, turn it into a win for Microsoft, and most importantly, close the deal. It will be interesting to see if Conners can do the same. Ed
