The January Effect and Y2k...

The first week of the year tends to be up because of the January Effect... Stocks that were beaten down at the end of the previous year for tax selling purposes are bought at discount prices... This tends to give a boost to the whole market... If we have no major Y2k problems we could also have a big relief rally in January...
