I think you misunderstood some of what I was saying. You're very correct in asserting that when the ungodly rule, confusion reigns, leaving those wanting to do right with the choice of doing it on their own. As far as the following statement by you, "Do you really think a Godly man should risk death and imprisonment and forsake his duty as a husband and a father to stop the wicked from destroying themselves.", I think it goes further than that. Abortionists are destroying the ungodly, but they are also destroying the innocent, the weak and the uninformed. Those seeking to stop first degree murder are well aware of the risks involved and are willing to be separated from loved ones in order to stop a killer from killing again. If you really believe you should "love your neighbor as yourself", then you have to understand these "killer christians" (for lack of a better word) consider that unborn child as THEIR family. This is their way of defending their family. Many in the pro-life movement are quick to say, "Don't kill your baby. I will adopt him." And they mean it. I know your view on predestination might cause you to see "family" in a different way. Still, the fact remains that as evil continues practically unabated, we will see more and more "doing it on our own" by christians and non christians alike. Like I said, I don't agree with this type of behaviour. I do understand their mindset, however. As basically a "pacifist" christian, I will not defend even my own family if it means I have to intentionally kill someone. This doesn't mean I would sit back and take it either. I just don't believe I have the right to have the attitude of "kill or be killed". My times are in His Hands and so are my family's. The Waco thing was indeed tragic. Reno and friends showed what they were made of. Fear also played a role in this tragedy. The FBI and others knew Koresh had arms and the whole thing escalated. In this case had it been known that the group did not have firearms, lives would have been saved. By the way, I do believe christians MOST DEFINITELY have the right to have a gun or whatever to protect their families. I just won't have one. "Will the death of a few change the Godlessness of this land and curb abortion? Abortion and Homosexuality are fruits not the real problem." I agree, although you can't compare these two fruits. Abortion involves the murder of an innocent whereas homosexuality causes the death spiral in those who willingly participate. Remember, these people are defending someone who can not defend themselves. Homosexuality is not in the same category. Some feel their "spiritual call" IS to work through challenging the immoral fiber that has gripped our society. This has not been without fruit. Norma McCorvey (The Roe in Roe vs Wade) became a christian through the efforts of abortion protestors. There have been countless "saved from execution" babies as well as moms and dads repenting when someone has been willing to step to the plate and speak the truth. Lastly, by getting in the political arena, chrisians have made a difference. If no one ever protested, slavery would still be around. The hope of many is that the eyes of this society would see abortion for what it is and DEMAND a change. I can't argue with that. All in all, as these days continue to wind down, it is very wise to stay close to the Living God for direction. Yes, Oprah will not be there when a life and death decision has to be made. May we all have the grace to face the unknown, knowing He is directing us.
