JPR: I am not an expert on these religious matters but it looks to me that the lady is in love with someone who happens to be a Muslim and that could be reason enough for the conversion, besides she seems to enjoy stirring up a good 'contraversy' now and then. Anyway I think most people who are familiar with her writings will always remember her as a distinguished writer and not as a Hindu or Muslim or whatever.
