Rande, I agree on the most popular companies. And I always look for dips in the high-fliers to catch their short-term bottoms, but while the market usually over-reacts, it always corrects sooner or later. With tax-selling and window-dressing (no funds want to hold dogs at the end of the quarter) January should have a great effect on clearly undervalued and oversold issues. Doesn't mean you can play the high-fliers but the value dogs as a short-term play now feel not only safe but a virtual a sure thing. That is if the profits are there. I'll be out of them within a month or two don't worry. (unless perception changes of course).

Next market collapse will probably be March or April when people have to cash out to pay enormous taxes. gg Until then I play the dips and value growth stocks.

Sometimes it's lonely being a bottom-feeder. gg

Should be a very merry Christmas economically and I don't think Y2k will be a problem at all (though the TV networks are certainly playing up the fears for ratings, the jerks)

Have a merry one. Monday is the last tax-selling day of the year, right? if so, last chance to look for bottoms in dogs. I'll be busy looking for gifts to put under my tree.
