Hey, Skip--in reviewing the week's activity, three comments:

i) re. Nextwave, if FCC awards that spectrum to NXTL without completely re-opening and re-writing the C-bloc rules, then Kennard's canard about giving spectrum to the people will be viewed as an ironic joke on them, given that any number of large carriers will probably further tie up that spectrum rather than let it go to NXTL without a fight;

ii) did any one not notice re. GBLX awarding the Asia Pacific Ring (or whatever it was called) to the KDD submarine fiber cable laying firm? Either this means Global Marine, GBLX's own sub sub, is so flat-out committed to laying cable in the rest of the GBLX-Crossings that no ships are available, or GBLX awarded the contract in return for some future favors in Asia; and

iii) from my own work the last two weeks in Australia with a client working with Chinese interests, Hutchinson Whampoa, with whom GBLX is joint venturing the GBLX share of its joint venture with MSFT and Softbank in exchange for access to a bunch of Hong Kong's major corporate sites, Hutch Whampoa is very, very well connected, as it were, and not only to HK.

Happy holidays, all

Steve
