Mark - If ya gotta... I guess the Indy heads market is more tempting than the media market, but IMO it's still extremely risky... <<. It makes me nervous to think about their component numbers in a few years when they will be producing 30gb per platter heads (15gb per platter with 1 head). Perhaps this means the 5gb platters with one head and 10gb platter with 2 heads will have long product lives to fill the void for low capacity drives. >> What forecasts have you been looking at?!? It's actually much more bleak than that. 2 years from no we should see closer to 45-50GB per platter. 3 years is something like 80+. Seems to me in a few years it'll be a rare desktop that is shipped with more than a 1(certainly not more than 2) head DD. Add it all up and there is still a lot of bleeding on the horizon in the Indy market. todd
