It seems to me that both Samsung and Fugitsu are using 3.2 GB platters for their drives. Are these GMR heads or just MR ?

My guess is that they never made a profit from their disk sales and they have no hope of doing that with their current offerings. I also assume they will not be able to offer competitive products in the 10GB and higher capacity.

So if we also assume that the standard disk size in PC's will be 10GB and up, then the supply from those two will dry up, and prices will be stable or go higher. But I'll have to wait about 3 months to see if this line of thinking is fantasy or reality.
