Ed, You make some very interesting points regarding the need for political cover. This is a big price tag no matter who signs off on the final deal UNLESS the property is developed. If there was a way to provide some sense of security that environmental issues could be a top priority, the windfall to the state would be tremendous, then everyone wins assuming there are no major environmental accidents. I agree that with the Middle East still holding the cards when it comes to oil, and unstable nature of the area, a reserve this size in US territory is just too important to ignore forever. Tom F.
