I was assured by the CCO Lawyer that they are considering "all possibilities" including my proposed settlement. There was no mention of any settlement discussions with the State and there is no indication that anyone from the State has even heard of my suggested settlement involving a delay in drilling and refundable payments to CCO. The CCO Lawyer suggested that they were aware of the Michigan settlement with Miller Oil, but I do not know how much detail the CCO attorneys have. I don't believe they have actually talked to Jack Miller as I have. I gave his phone number to the CCO lawyers, but most lawyers are reluctant to talk to outsiders too much. I think they are afraid that they may lose control of the case to someone else with more experience and expertise. I really question the CCO expertise in large condemnation cases (a specialized field). I hope that I am underestimating the CCO Legal Staff, but I have no indication that they have the required expertise and balls for this.
