I didn't understand your questions, but they seemed to say:

I don't see why a content site needs to design specifically to ATHM's architecture.

ATHM doesn't have the "architecture" currently. That's the point. This is a method to get the "content" out of house. What "architecture" am I talking about? The one which defines @Home's added value as an independent ISP. This is a whole new concept so I don't expect the meat and potatoes managers at HQ to understand. You will know more in a few weeks when the Excite face is revealed. I am suggesting that the face have an expeditious structure to enable RAD for small business to intermediate sites. Firms like YHOO won't initially be amenable to fitting their face within such structure. That may change.

The revenue stream has to be there. How are you going to protect revenue streams?

By building on what others do well and maybe better than I could. I would make no effort to protect anything. Something prosperous doesn't need protection. The will to protect is born in greed, lives in folly, and dies in fear.

The pie is finite.

This is a liberal view which generates class warfare. The important aspect of the pie is that it grows unless liberals pass laws in order to fairly divide what they believe is a fixed pie. Then the pie stops growing and class warfare breaks out with the lower classes getting less than they would otherwise. Liberals refuse to see the destruction that their idealism spawns.

People won't spend much more than $40.00 for access

You don't know that and Grace demonstrated that isn't true on the public network. You don't know what can be done on a private network or what people would pay.

e-tailing/advertising is only worth so much. Nothing is infinite.

Nothing has to be infinite. We would like our business to be unbounded by our own shortsightedness.

I have long felt that web content is easily mimicked. Why pander to AOL instead of stealing all their stuff?

This is the moral vacuity of the caring liberal. You will find that sacrificing what you have brings more than what you have or what you could otherwise get. There is a concept called synergy and there is a concept called enlightened self-interest. The former requires that you contribute a little to your opponent in order to for both to get more and the latter requires that you sacrifice some of yours to your opponent so that your opponent may prosper. Their prosperity stimulates your own. This is the most virulent form of competition known. You conquer with love. Unfortunately with narrow greedy minds which have come from poverty of spirit no such strategy is possible.

Will you be kissing babies and making stump speeches during your election campaign?

It isn't possible to board ATHM because they groom and prune their candidates. I don't fit the mold.

Nothing is infinite.

Prove it.
