What is the reason behined your optimism?

A true IOManiac needs no reason behind their wild optimism.
IOManiacs throw their heads back and laugh in the face of logic and reasoning: Ha ha haha.

IOM has fallen and can't get up. They are like a once great athlete hobbled by injury. They are hesitant to make big moves. They're cutting costs on their main products and trying to become the standard by attrition. Even their foray into the CD business is middle of the road. They have lost so much money on failed products and poor marketing they are gun shy to make the next bold move.

How much is left for IOM to write off for this quarter ?
What can they possibly take a charge against this time ??

Maybe they will surprise everyone and beat estimates.

More blind optimism.

Buy, sell or hold? We all decide for ourselves. Glad you're still on board. Personally, I'm just hoping to be on the victory float when it makes road pizza outa Rocky. M

>>Since Zip was introduced enterprise storage, network attached appliances, B2B, e-commerce, wirless tech, and various other technologies have grown by leaps and bounds. What has IOM done? They must change their focus!<<

Zead -

Since its inception, Iomega has been a company which produces personal storage. I can't see how changing their focus to enter businesses in which they have no experience will help them.

I'm curious about the list of technologies you mention. Yes, most of them have shown tremendous growth since Zip was introduced. But what does that have to do with anything? Do you mean to suggest that those technologies compete with Zip?

And let's not forget that Zip has also shown tremendous growth since it was introduced. In fact, it has been one of the most successful computer products ever.

I do agree that Iomega needs to come up with new products to drive growth, but I think that they should be storage products. Storage is what the company does. Computer users still need storage. They still need removable storage, since keeping all their data in fixed storage is putting all your megs in one basket. (Sorry.) For that reason, I still believe that there is money to be made in the personal storage business.
