Has anyone noticed what's been going on in biotech lately? If you have, it shows what happens when the Street(or the internuts) rotate into a sector. I have invested in biotechs for several years, and have grown quite familiar with a lot of companies that have traded in the $5-$10 range for years that are suddenly going up that much each day now. Most of these companies have good long-term prospects(if things work out as hoped), but are still several years away from profitability. It seems inevitable that the rotation will take place into energy some time next year with the overwhelmingly favorable fundamentals we're seeing. I outsmarted myself over the past year and traded some of my biotechs for energy. I am now wishing I stayed with the biotechs longer and rotated to energy later, but that's Monday morning quarterbacking. My point here is that the rotation can come at any time, and it's easy to outsmart yourself trying to perfectly time everything. With our increasingly bullish fundamentals, the entire energy sector will soon take off for Boom2K and worrying about a minor temporary drop could leave you on the sidelines watching while your favorite stocks rocket upward.
