Carolyn, I had a similar thought when I looked at the map and also recalled SJ's words to Peter Stein "she just said that she was very very tired and that she was looking forward to getting allot of sleep"

Based on this, IMO she was definitely headed somewhere. She had already returned the car, had already gone home and at the point of encountering Peter she is 3 blocks away from home and says she's tired. So who or what drew her out of her apartment.

Additionally SJ was very outspoken about her feelings. Quote from others "she would knock you out if she disagreed" ("knock you out" meant doing so verbally)

And this from her parents "It pains us terribly to imagine that she may have met her fate as a victim of her very positive, but critical outlook".

This last, by the parents, stuck me as an incredibly bold and unusual statement. What was said to the parents or known by the parents for them to even make such a statement to begin with.

IMO either SJ did know her killer and was on her way to them, i.e. this is why she left her apartment even though being very tired, or I am just going back to the conspiracy theory of her being killed over the contents and/or data obtained from doing the paper. This theory is not that far of a stretch if you look at the stalking as being continuous over a period of time and the actual time of the killing as being somewhat random. Also look at the possibility of the killing being professional and made to look like a crime of passion.

BTW Jeff, thanks. The map helped allot
