Correction to the date location.

The date appears in the upper right hand corner on the
AIM Main Menu Screen.

I am wondering if i screwed up or deleted off a VB file
from my Newport install disk.

John

Hi John

You should be getting the message that you are not up to date when you set the date ahead. I get it when I did it. If you were missing a file Newport wouldn't run at all, so I don't think that's the problem. I suggest you enter the trade this week, and not advance the date on your computer.

TO ALL:

I did find a problem changing the date in Newport on one of my computers. Last week I installed Windows 98 Second Edition, and today when I tried to advance the date into 2000 I got a "Type Mismatch" error message in Newport.
After some searching I found that this update changed the way my date is formatted in Control Panel. If you run into this problem, here's how to fix it:

Click on "Start"
Go to "Settings"
Go to "Control Panel"
Double click on "Regional Settings"
Click on "Date"
In the box labeled "Short Date Style" change the format to M/d/yy

This should let you into Newport if you run into the "Type Mismatch" problem.

There was an email going around saying your computer will not be Y2K compliant unless you change to a 4 digit year in the Regional Settings. This isn't correct, it was another of those hoax emails.

If anyone runs into any other problems please let me know.

Bob
