I believe Amazon buys their inventory. That is the inventory they were never going to have to carry because they only order it once it is sold<G> They are paid first and pay for the inventory later. Quite a business model. This gives Amazon a huge advantage over brick and mortar operations. It is easily seen how this leverage really helps by looking at the P/L statement and the balance sheet.
