Now gag on that for a while.
It is chip set and mobo need that stalls the product, the CPU is more capable than the P-III at SMP, better bandwidth and since a single Athlon defeats a dual P-III systems(same memory etc/....no rambus) then when the chipset and mobos arrive they will thrash the Intel products.
Write that down. Thrash. and when they also have the rambus capability they will skunk the Intel P-III. Skunk =defeat utterly, F&W.
From the AMD site there are no licence restrictions from CPQ that limit SMP

As to one step at a time as the Athlon unfolds, I prefer the term
"one more turn of the screw"
