Petz, Thanks for the information. It sems that serious bugs are quite rare. Intel as the lerger producer has had the most serious problems with more parts and more bugs per part.
I can understand the reality that few bugs will be modifiable via the BIOS or writeable store.
Looks like thery need to replace parts for the bad ones, as Intel has done. The recent copperminus fix....did they replace parts for E44/46? One would think that the mobo makers would implement the fix asap. I did not hear much of an impact on various small mobo makers from the 44/46 bugs. Possibly they had no parts until after the bug was fixed in the mask because of the shortages at the beginning.
This left Dell to get the main hit along with CPQ and GTW.
