No, E44 & E46 were fixed via the BIOS, not sure how really. According to the errata document, Intel has no intention of ever fixing the silicon, so if the motherboard makers don't fix it in their BIOS, the bug still exists. You might be getting confused with the "wrong sign" error, which never applied to the Coppermine, although the Intel documents incorrectly said it did apply to Coppermine for two weeks.

AFAIK, since the P60 math error, very few parts have ever been exchanged because of an erratum. AMD would swap your early K6 chip for a new one if you said you used Unix, I believe. If that resulted in 100 swaps, I'd be surprised.
