The MOUTH returns! And, as expected takes his first shot @ yours truly and FGH Slider: "There "may" be a time to return to FGH, but what is so amusing; is that there will be glaring technical and fundamental indicators of when that time arrives." Comment - This is one such indicator: quotes.barchart.com The very construction of these technical indicators are useful to the value investor because they be revised to visit the future by analyzing the TIME elements on which they are based. Once a bottom is formed (as in the case of FGH), as time elapses the averages upon which they rely will continuously blink out the red lights, turn to amber and then to green. The chart is nothing more than a HISTORY of previous price action and while it may have some influence on a day trader, it does NOT represent a forecast for future price action. It only presents a snapshot of PRESENT PAPER value based on the recent price activity. By the time the signal turns amber, the stock may well have advanced 50% or better and by the time it changes to GREEN (as in money) it may well have doubled or tripled. This is just one Contrarian Value Investor's view of how technical analysis may provide a predictable price pattern that is BULLISH not bearish. Further supporting the BULLISH view of FGH (near & intermediate term) are recent comments (paraphrased NOT quotations) made by Mr Mr Hastings FGH/IR : 1. We have a sizable backlog and don?t forget the 100m in annual repair and maintenance revenues NOT counted in the backlog and the 10m or so contract revisions which may occur during a single quarter. 2. We expect to make announcements early in the year 2000.. fgihlx quoting FGH/IR yesterday: "He said the reason they have not put out the info.on the last 2 contracts was because most of the big boys are out for the holidays.he said they were going to put it out in detail after the holidays.he said we would get much better coverage then because everyone would be back at work.he sounded very positive about everything." messages.yahoo.com 3. Every contract starts off with an inquiry. We are getting more inquiries than at any time in recent years. Comment: Due to the lead time required to construct a drilling ship as compared to leasing one, FGH customers by necessity take a much long view of future requirements than E&P customers. Putting the fab's on the bottom of the food chain might grab attention; but, it does NOT alter the fact that FGH is already receiving inquiries and bidding contracts some of which will be awarded long before Friede's sizable BACKLOG is worked off. The turning point of adding instead of working off the backlog appears to be approaching. Other FACTs supporting a good year for the Company is the continuing high price levels of the underlying commodities, the efficiencies and synergies the company expects to achieve due to the merger, forecasts of huge Future demands for FGH services including double-hull & FPSO construction and retrofit and new-build state of the art drilling ship and deep water semi-submersibles. Etc. etc. etc. O/T SLIDER: "I officially pardon myself from the $4 MEXP for Xmas boast..." and "I have spoken; so it is written - so it shall be done..." Comment: I suspect those who followed the advice of the MOUTH may not be as forgiving of the recognitive dissonant editor as he is to himself. As usual, and as expected, the MOUTH rewrites the script to conform with his on subjective and highly imaginative self image of himself. >VBG< NOTE: For someone who proclaims he doesn't have a dog in this fight, the MOUTH is spending an inordinate amount of time and bandwidth explaining HIS NON-POSITION, both here and on YAHOO FGH. messages.yahoo.com The really sad thing about a liar is not necessarily that he lied; but, that you can't ever believe him again! Now about that Arizona water front property?? >g<
