Jim,

Only MHz (MHZ sells-TM McMannis) and the FPU matters.

You should try selling this critical information to some CPU companies. I find it simply amazing that none of these multi-billion dollar companies have ever figured this out.

Just to make sure I'm clear about this- are you saying that higher MHz commands a higher price?

Jim - <The Flopper is about maxed out in MHz (maybe another 100 Mhz...)

I predict you will see a Coppermine designs at well over 1 GHz.

<All these benchmarks, especially the ones influenced by Intel/Rambo* have become a joke. Only MHz (MHZ sells-TM McMannis) and the FPU matters.>

Then AMD should have no trouble at all signing on DELL, GTW, HWP, etc.

Jim - RE: "Still, Intel must be commended for Scramblin' an old dog (P6) to new Mhz heights."

Even if Intel can scale Cumine to Athlon levels of 1GHz, Thunderbird should be able to outperform Cumine a good amount. Unless Cumine gets an extra 256K L2 cache, some other added features, or Camino "2" turns out to be magical, Intel will have to wait for Willy to regain a performance lead over Thunderbird, assuming Willy can really leap.

JimmyJaJaJaMan - Re: "The Flopper is about maxed out in MHz (maybe another 100 Mhz but the Athlon is headed much higher and to a better platform and integrated L2"

Flopper maxed out ?

Why is AMD jacking up the voltage on the AthWIPER just to get to 800 MHz?

Sounds like the AthWIPER core ix maxed out - and now AMD is SCRAMBLIN' just trying to CATCH up to the Spry Coppy !!!!

Too bad you Merril Flynched, Jimbo !!!!!

Intel's up >$9 since you hit the Rookie Panic Button !
