Hello UnGle FranQ and Threadmates,

I came across an interesting article in the latest Fortune magazine that ranks the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Our favorite Qualcomm comes in at #14. Some interesting snippets that were mentioned were Q has on-site fitness centers; basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. The company also picks up 100% of medical insurance premiums.

The article mentioned that a lot of the companies offer unusual perks. Qualcomm's mention was that they kick in $250 of support if an employee's kid plays on a sports team.

An interesting item was the scoring system that was used. Two thirds of a company's score came from a questionaire that was filled out by the employees. The other 3rd came from Fortune's evaluation of materials presented to them by the companies.

As for other companies of G&K interest, Cisco was 3rd! Softie was 21st, Lucent 44th, AOL 51st, Tellabs 62nd, Intel 65th, Nokia 75th, Dell 81st, and Sun Micro 83rd.
