We did not call the Church "Puritan Reformed" because of any people in the USA.

I do not know anything about the "witches" that were burned or if they were innocent or not.

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

I do not think Christians should "Burn" people that is God's business.

IMPO = I think we should put people to death as mercifully as we can. ( Injection works just fine ) That is my personal opinion.

However stoning had to have hurt.

We called it Puritan after those who worked so hard during the Reformation in Europe.

I have been told that the word "Puritan" is looked down upon in the US. We have no such history in Canada.

We set the Church up and adopted the Westminister Confession of Faith as our "Statement of Faith"

I left the Church because they became "covenanters" but they elevated the act of Covenanting to the same level as being saved in my mind.

They admit publicly that the Westminister Confession and those things that were adopted under synods in the 17th Century and later as being Subordinate Standards which is to say they are "under" the Bible in authority but in practice I do not see them using them in that way.

That is why I quit!

Also... I was not the sole nor the main person in forming that Church. I was but one of a group of us. Two of the others had been appointed "Elders" in the Bible Presbyterian Church which we all left and One was an "Elder" in the Alliance Church before that.

There were about 7 of us who could no longer continue worshipping in the Bible Presbyterian Church and could find no other church better.

We were forced to start our own church we did not do it to get out of submitting to anyone else nor to exercise dominion over anyone else in an evil manner.

I believe God has given Church Authority.

Elders are to be respected and obeyed.

They are not to be viewed as "dictators"

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Speaking of witches have you ever thought about this verse:

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Tell me Haqi... were those they burned Guilty ?
