Just a second, Bill. Buddhists don't run around killing one another, nor do Taoists, nor do.... Even if God is merely an intellectual construct, people have internalized values such as "Thous shalt not kill" to the benefit of the society.

Were this country's laws not based on Judeo-Christian values, man would be free to kill
any other any time without conscience or retaliation by the state. If man were left to his
own devices, the caveman era would probably have survived to 2000 AD.>>

America, a mostly Christian country, has a very high per capita violent crime rate compared to other first world countries. Why would this be, if we were really governed by the words in a commandment?

Not to forget the millions of people who were murdered by Christians during the Inquisition, the Crusades, and all the other massacres and wars fought over religion!
