We have people as good with words- I've read some wonderful novelists lately that are as good with words. Politicians must appeal to such a broad audience- that if they spoke like Jefferson (or like some of the wonderful writers I read) they would surely never be elected dogcatcher let alone President.

Politics requires men willing to stoop low enough to collect all the special interest groups necessary to be elected. I couldn't do it. It's no wonder we have such midgets as political leaders.
