For what it's worth, you might want to check with a priest and ask whether Martin Luther and a few others produced Bibles prior to the KJV in 1611. If you want a real exposure to various early Bibles, schedule a visit to University Cathedral in Los Angeles. Remember that Jerome made no claim of inspiration when he made the chapter and verse subdivisions of the texr. Sometimes, no matter what version you're reading, there are interesting insights available if you look at the last verse of the previous chapter to see whether it clarifies what Jerome set forth as the first verse of the next chapter.
Neanwhile, happy new year, decade, century, millennium to all.

I am not going to get into Textual Criticism with anyone because it takes too much "time"

As far as the KJV being "Hastily Assembled"

It was done a three different universities.
They divided the Bible into three parts; hence the different spellings of names between various sections of the Bible i.e. Noah/Noe
Isaiah/Esaias etc.

For the most part however the KJV is the exact same wording as the Geneva Bible

I own a copy of the New Testament Geneva Bible 1601 Edition.

I see no difference in the wording at all.

THE KJV was not hastily assembled it was merely recompiled and examined at to verity with the "Receptus Textus"

The only portion that was verified by the Catholic "Latin Vulgate" was parts of Revelation because it was missing.

Funny because that book is the one that Rome should hate the most.

As far as Protestants having no ENGLISH Bible until the KJV which was produced from 1604 - 1611 ( 7 Years )

You forget John Wycliffe 1320 - 1384, he recognized the Pope as the Anti-Christ of Revelation and realized people where perishing in their sin because they could not know God because they could not get God's Word from Rome or read the Latin Vulgate so he published the first English Bible. Rome tried to kill him but failed they did however burn John Huss for teaching 'heresy' ( the truth ) out of it.

In the 15th Century Johann Gutenberg invented the printing press and the First Book ever printed was the Bible and he printed a lot of them and that was the beginning of the end of the grip of darkness Rome held over the whole world.

Textus Receptus ( Latin ) = Received Text

Latin Vulgate ( Translated from Greek and Hebrew by Jerome )

Vulgate = Vulgar or the Vulgar tongue of Latin.

English is also a "vulgar tongue" and a very poor language for communicating.

The Church of Rome is not Christian and it is the Biggest Cult in the World. The reason most "Christians" have little trouble with it is because they also do not know the true Gospel and have bought into it's "free-will" works mode of Salvation. Rome has made an Idol of Mary and reinterpreted the word "Saint" from scripture to build more Idol.

I am a True Saint - it is the name of all those who are chosen by God and Born by the Holy Spirit. The saints of God hate having themselves made into Idols and prayed to or through !

Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Roman Catholicism is not Christian it is "ANOTHER GOSPEL" which is no Gospel but a lie.

Why worry about the Bible ... Your "Church" doesn't care what it says..........

At the Counsel of TRENT your Cult ruled against all true Christians and Declared that anyone who affirms that Salvation is not of the will of man or that men do not have "free-will" that we were Damnable Heretics.

How many of my True Christian Brothers did they slaughter during the " MISTAKE " ?

If you really want to go to heaven you will need to repent and come out of her.

If you want to see the difference between the truth and what Rome teaches you could start by going here:

You're wrong, Charley. The Douay-Rheims Bible --- "the New
Testament was published, and became consequently known as the "Rheims Testament". It contained no episcopal imprimatur, but a recommendation was appended signed by four divines of the University of Reims. The Old Testament was delayed by want of means, until the whole Bible was eventually published in two quarto volumes, in 1609 and 1610,"

The KJV (published in 1611 and translated from the original Hebrew and Greek) is hardly the first English Bible. I always liked Wycliffe's 1384 Bible (the Catholics had his bones dug up and burned) for daring to translate the Bible into the people's tongue. It seems for consistency's sake they should have burned the Douay guys.

"This Bible is for the Government of the People, by the People, and for the People." (General Prologue) This is Wycliffe speaking, not the Bible, but it has a familiar ring about it that I sort of like.
