Jeff, please clarify my confusion on your answers here.

Q:"Did he return to his office?"
A:"His car was parked in the lot. Not sure if he stopped in his office to get anything."

Then

Q:"It is assumed Jim walked to the Rink from his office."
A:"True."

What "lot" was his car parked in?? The lot for the Rink?
or the lot at Yale where he would normally park his car?

Are you saying that he parked his car at the Rink, then walked to his office, then back to the Rink, then he drove home to his apartment from the Rink?

or are you saying that he walked from Yale to his office, then to the Rink then back to Yale and drove home from Yale.??

Please clarify. Thanks

JD

Questioned answered by Jeff:

Thank you, Jeff. You did a good job -- including a good job of NOT editorializing or defending [you saved that for James in a separate post :) ]. JD asked for one clarification, and you answered. I have a few more:

The approx. time Jim arrived at and departed the Rink?
8:00-8:15
.
Did he go directly to his apt.?
Yes.
.
The approx. time Jim arrived at his apt./next location?
It's a short drive. Probably under five minutes.
.
Where did Jim park his Jeep when he lived in that apt.?
Always on the street.
.
On the night of Dec. 4th, at his apt., did Jim: ,.. Talk to anyone?
No.

... Send any emails/faxes?
No.

Therefore, it is settled that, according to Jim, on the evening of 12/04/98, with the times being approximate, he:

- Left his office at a few minutes before 8:00 PM;
- Went to the Rink and watched the game from 8:00PM -8:15PM;
- Left the Rink at 8:15PM [may have made a quick stop at
....his office],walked to his Jeep and drove to his apt.;
- Arrived at his apt. bldg. at 8:20PM, parked his red
....Jeep on the street and entered his apt.; and,

- Did not leave his apt., nor talk with anyone via phone
....or in-person, for the rest of the night. (Jeff didn't
....answer whether Jim had fax/email capabilities at his
....apt,; but, if he did, he did not generate, nor
....receive any communications via those modes.)

.

On the night of Dec. 4th, who was the last person to see Jim?
I think it was the woman who visited him in his office sometime between 6-7pm.

This is confusing to me:

First, I apologize for the poor wording of the question, as Jim does not know who the last person was to see him. I intended to ask, "....who was the last person Jim saw (and when)? "

Next, Your answer about the last person to see him being the woman at his office between 6-7PM {who I assume is the lecturer/professor that asked him to go to the movies} is quite surprising, as it contemplates that:

Jim did not see anyone he knew:
.
- between his office and the Rink;
- at the Rink where there were hundreds of Yale faculty & students;
- between the Rink --> Jeep, or Rink --> office ---> Jeep;
- on the drive to his apt., nor,
- upon arrival at apt., parking Jeep and walking to his apt.

Jeff: Please confirm.

.
After arriving at his apt., who was the first person Jim spoke ... to? When?

Don't know, but it obviously wasn't sometime between 9:25 and 10:55.
.
What am I missing here? Why "obviously" ??? {Or was that a joke?}
.

Who was the first person to tell him about Suzanne's murder?... When was he told?
.....he heard about the murder (in general) on the local 11pm news. I assume, but don't know for sure, he was told late the next morning by Yale who the actual victim was..
.

Please confirm that. {You may want to wait to see if there are other questions/details requested.}

How was that? (g) If need be, I'll get more detailed answers to the above. Let me know if that's necessary.

Very good.
