I understand that when you call 911 with a Cell phone,
the police will not be able to pinpoint where you are.
Is there any company working on solving this problem now
that cell phones are being used by ever increasing number
of people.

The key indicator for this is people like myself, who decided to totally ditch long distance coverage in favor of using their Sprint PCS or other wireless carrier service. Now, when I get the inevitable dinner time calls from some long distance providers offering me whatever plan, I ask if they can beat "free", and they politely say no thank you, and hang up. The wave of wireless users will smack the LD providers upside the head like nothing before....
