I've been looking thru the list of MCK's products and they seem well advanced of RACE's little offerings. Most can't be described as point to point and they support voice/data over DSL/ISDN etc but not thru POTS.
It looks like while RACE were working on the Lamprey and ESP - that MCK took a good 1 to 2 year lead over RACE in the integration of voice/data for the telecommuter. Nice sleek boxes at the customer premises too instead of those clumbersome NT PC chasis.

Looks like you need a small box at the client end, but the big advantage is you can you can plug in your fancy digital PBX phones that come with all those preprogramable buttons (Do Not Disturb/Sparkerphone/Line Select etc) and fancy LED displays.

I don't know about you but I would think that anyone that has to use the phone a lot (Telecommuters and especially call-centre operatives) would rather use the digital phone. Would you rather use the PC virtual phone interface for all those function keys?

One of things RACE selling points is that it gives full PBX functionality from a remote location. MCK's product goes one step furthur it brings the digital phone directly to the remote user.

No worry about adjusting volume on the settings on the PC,and other setups and you can tune into internet radio without worrying about screwing up your phone connection. Game set and match to MCK?
