No question. But, then, Windows was designed for the common man (as AOL was) and is highly successful. AOL took a page....
The other funny thing? AOL is not losing subscribers, but taking them on at a record pace - either through Compuserve or AOL. In addition, the # of registered Netscape members is growing nicely, too.
While it's easy to poke holes in their technology - you can't fault their marketing acumen, which is allowing them to rake in the advertising $$$ faster than anyone else.
Hell, 1/2 the online shopping was done through the AOL shopping area this season.
