Happy New Year BGR,

I was not criticizing AG's handling of the dollar per se, and in fact agree that -- so far -- this is not a pressing issue. I'm frankly puzzled how you read that into my post; I merely stated that I think the dollar should be the Fed's main priority. Where I believe some criticism may be due is in the area of asset inflation. The Fed obviously needs to be very careful here, because it is in such environments that banks -- the Fed's second priority IMO -- most often get into trouble.

Simply put, tighter policy is called for, don't you think?

Regards, John
