I do both - but I don't usually trade my Core Internet holdings: RNWK, CMGI, AOL, VRIO, DCLK and MSGI. I have some extra RNWK shares for trading now but elected to sell covered calls instead of playing the shares at the moment.

Good luck everyone.

It's interesting how some people get nervous about RNWK today but think if you had no news but just the stock quote I think most wouldn't think much of anything. News on TV and the like will play havoc with your brain and so I turn it off and look at the facts, the stock is up today..

Yahoo! tuning out RealNetworks?

dailynews.yahoo.com

I didn't see your post until now. I don't want to be a day trader. I'm thinking more on the order of weeks or months. Cycles do exist. I will not dig in and try to defend a position having significant risk. The buy and hold strategy has been highly successful and now investors increase the margin debt to buy as much stock as possible -- too many people are doing the same thing now. And they have been protected up to now by increasing liquidity and a strong economy. I feel the risk is too great to be a buy and hold type investor these days. It may continue to work, but the risk is much greater now than when you presumably started building your portfolio.
