17 mil extra barrels to be returned to market post y2k? Looks like the API/DOE #'s will be pressured during the next month. Let's see if OSX/E&P's can ignore the bad news.

>> Meanwhile, the U.S. Energy Information Administration has noted that about 17 million barrels of U.S. crude oil, gasoline and distillates stockpiled by distributors in case of Y2K problems were not needed, a research note from GNI Research said. The stockpiled petroleum should be returned to the U.S. market this month. <<

To some extent you could say we ignored this bad news today and the tech selloff, but we're still in the first few minutes of this new "game" imho until we see where techs and oil prices stablize.

Definately will be raising even more cash and selling on the bounces till we get a clearer picture of where we are headed. There is far too much uncertainty right now between post y2k gluts, tech selloff taking entire market down, rate fears and OPEC cheating. I'm by no means bearish long term, but I do think it makes sense to sit on the sidelines for a while or do no more than short term trades.
