Paul,
RE:"Intel doesn't need to salvage anything.

I guess we will never know how bad things were screwed up. Intel will smooze 'em.

RE:By the way - the market generally looks FORWARD - and Intel has put nearly all of 1999's screw-ups behind them

So you admit Intel had "screw-ups"! Bravo, there is help for you yet!
Since the markets look forward what does the last 2 days of "McPanic attack" sell off say about the future of the market and Intel?

Paul,

re:"By the way - the market generally looks FORWARD - and Intel has put nearly all of 1999's screw-ups behind them."

I am not sure this is the case.

Intel has bet all its marbles on Rambus.

Timna will have require Rambus for adequate performance in 2H 2000. If they use the MTH hub its performance will be slower than VIA's celeron clone.

Willamette will have 2 rambus channels on chip - and whenever it comes out q4 2000-1H 2001 may be crippled if Rambus is a BUST.

IMHO these are pretty exciting products for Intel for near term revenue - while itanium will get lots of press but revenues in Yr1 will be small.

If you have a large percentage of assets in Intel (as i believe u do) you should at least be concerned. And it is way too early to assume that Intel has put its 99 screw ups behind it.

regards,

Kash Johal
