I don't think we are arguing the same point. I'm saying that claiming somebody accepted "thousands in bribes" which consisted of box seats at sporting events with no intrinsic value (because they are unused) is biased journalism.

Then there is the other issue of whether corporations should do this or not, and whether people should accept corporate gifts. But irrespective of that, the valuation issue I see as quite clear, I mean it exists in the tax code - what could possibly be clearer than that!? lol. When you writeoff a charitable donation etc. you need to state what something is worth (presumably if you were to resell it) - not what you paid for it or the value if it were somehow a scarce resource etc. Why would a corruption charge be any different?
