<P.S.: My take is that Intel could have guided down but tried until the last minute to make the estimate and failed. Having fallen short, the management team followed that with positive spin to manage the stock price.>

To cap all of this, I thought Andy Bryant made it pretty clear (unfortunately :-/) that if anything was causing weakness in the financials for Q3, it was the Coppermine / P858 delay. Intel still hit its range, but did seem to tacitly admit that the numbers would have been a little better if it weren't for that dastardly set of events.
