I dont know didly about your internal workings, but what I do know is that if you have MS Outlook Express all that is needed is to make the list and fire off an e-mail to all on that list ,,,ONE MOUSE CLICK......PERIOD

And BTW if it tales a few days ,,,,,,sheesh,,,

I do not know how they do it, but I think what Hal may be referring to is a listserver similar to what LeoWeb uses.

When Leo is down, we all get a message within a brief period of time indicating why and the estimated time to repair.

I have no idea how it is designed, but it gets there quickly. Sometimes minutes after the system is knocked out. It does not solve the problem, of course, but at least we all have an idea what is going on. Helps them as well, I suppose, because their Tech Desk does not get (as) swamped.

EDIT

Actually, I think sometimes it gets there prior to the event, becuase they know the system has to come down. Now that is really something, because you have your guard up ahead of time.

paulr1: Ok, let's keep this discussion professional...<gg>

The One List notification only (one way email) is a good interim strategy. You should make folks aware of this once set up by posting notifications of how to sign up, in all of the following places: The current one list, this thread (and on any other threads you have dialog), your Web Site's Home Page, the QCharts sign up page and last but not least you should take the two or three days and email all QChart customers.

Then, all QC has to do is be sure and use it in a timely manner.

Regards,
LG
