"I could just feel the power under the hood of this slick and efficient
interface. I admit I didn't try to test any of my peripherals, but
instead stuck to the basics. There was certainly a bit of a learning
curve, and if you've never dealt with a text editor, you might run
screaming. But with my DOS experience from the old days, I had no
trouble getting around. Red Hat Linux makes you feel powerful! I
give it five stars!

The second distribution of the OS I tried
was Corel's desktop version. Corel touts its
product as a version for the end user and
plans to package it with many of its other
products, such as CorelDRAW, QuattroPro
and Paradox. The install of Corel's Linux
was easier than Red Hat's, but it took
longer. The interface was familiar,
reminding me of an early version of
Windows. Corel Linux almost eliminates the
learning curve -- anyone with any
Windows experience will have no trouble with this OS. This and
upcoming desktop applications (Red Hat's people say they're
working on it) could put a dent in the Windows market in the near
future, especially for those sick of the "blue screen of death." Four
stars."

Corel is getting attention with this distribution, and adding real value.
