I guess I post to you because it is late and I am not ready to go to bed.

You say: "You don't read the bible? So how do you know how a Christian is supposed to act, by hearsay?"

Hey, if you've read some of the bible quoted by Sam, many months ago, you would find that 'Christians' act by slaughtering all those folk that live on the other side of the block - and by trading off their daughters as if they were baseball cards.

PS: I promise myself that I will never degrade myself, nor elevate you, by posting to you again. G

The Feelings thread is utterly filled with good Christians, Chris. I think many of them might be insulted by your comments about them. Several of them have tried to reason with you already, to no avail.

Can I ask who are you to decide who is a good Christian, and who is not? Isn't that God's role, not yours, in your belief system?

I don't read the Bible, but I have been curious about Jesus, and have tried to read about him on a more objective basis, reading books by modern theologians about him and the times in which he lived. I have tried to sort out the myth from the real man who must have been incredibly memorable--a flash of light--in Jerusalem. I do think he probably spent years in India studying Buddhism, and would be more than uncomfortable with the history of Christianity. I think the Bible was written by men who were horribly misguided, and that Jesus is not really reflected in it.

But in any event, Jesus was a leftist social revolutionary who sought out the poor, the rejected outcastes, women, etc. He has been terribly distorted by those who use his name to cause pain, death, hatred or any dark emotion or experience at all.
