Well said, Kerry. Here's a funny thing i've noticed playing miners - as a company finds and develops a mineral deposit its highest share value will almost always be just before the point at which the full extent of the find is known. Not after, before. From the point at which the potential is more or less defined, the blue sky seems to thin out to grey. No matter how great the deposit, the share price always seems to have anticipated it a little overmuch. Reality sets in, the dilution necessary to build a mine, the lengthy time involved, the dream being suddenly limited, etc. And Lord help the junior who doesn't get bought out, who carries a mine through to production - tank city.
Profits are the kiss of death to speculation.

For that reason i largely avoid stocks with earnings -g- ... cheers

Ahhh. have you all turned bearish as of now?

For Amzn, etys et al. consider the message about the airliners - which never turned a comprehensive profit since the 70s. And they are still around.

The odds are not bad that Amzn gets another cash infusion via junk bond issue. Stay tuned.

Futures calm, as I write: -14 the SP, -72 the ND100. Buying opps created all the way. The ND should test the 3.300, then 3.000 soon.

KJC,
Here's a interesting article to close the 20th century on, a review of the biggest deals of the century.....I find it interessting that US Steel was valued at 400 billion in todays dollars back when(near MSFT), but today X comes in at 2.7 billion.

......seems that history does have ways of repeating itself and those who purport that the future will be different this time simply haven't taken the time to understand what has transpired in the past.
