Folks have found that if you want a hard drive, modem, monitor its tough to beat $500-600 as a base ASP.

So if you are there and you have a $450 computer at 400Mhz and a $500 computer at 600Mhz which one will folks buy.

I doubt if 10M folks see a $50 difference as the final determinant in such a selection.

Oh and BTW even if the silicon is free the packaging/test costs alone exceed $10.
