Kumar Upgrades Clown Company

rd.yahoo.com*http://chkpt.zdnet.com/chkpt/hud0001608/www.zdii.com/industry_list.asp?mode=news&doc_id=ZE502598

He seems 100% sure about Gateway/AMD.

What happened to the "CLOWN COMPANY" Ashok???

He was still his normal self -

"But Kumar, a long-time AMD critic, couldn't completely change his stripes.

"However, long-term the company's execution record or lack thereof and an inability to maintain a competitive roadmap against Intel should limit the price excursions beyond the stated levels," Kumar cautioned."

I emailed AMD's IR yesterday and Toni Beckham said earnings are Jan. 19 as this article states. The CC will be available on the web at AMD's site.

Pravin,

<HP's desktop lineup is very interesting:

biz.yahoo.com

It looks like the 800 Mhz PIII is a token system, as the next lower speed grade is 650 Mhz. Also, it is nice to see the K6-2 system configured and priced higher than the Celeron system.>

The lineup is indeed interesting with nothing between 800 and 650.

I am somewhat disappointed AMD has not roped up HP in time for 800 launch though. The launch so far is not as good as it could be. Let's see what we can glean from the conf call on 19th.
