So if UMC shares are worth $3.70 US then SIII's stake in UMC is worth $12.27 per SIII share. So as of right now, the market values the rest of SIII at -50 cents/share.

This looks like a real Ben Graham play.

Taiwan Semiconductor is paying about 35 times estimated year 2000 earnings for Worldwide Semiconductor. How much would this multiple value UMC per share in US $?

BTW, where are you all finding the financial for UMC?
