This post by Tony Viola on the Intel thread addresses the growing semiconductor capacity shortage, one sign of which is Intel's inability to deliver for Gateway.

I think this is great news for LSI. One of the themes of the last conference call was that LSi has done a great job of readying capacity for this upturn (Gresham and Silterra) and Wilf implied (or said outright?) that LSI's clear access to mucho capacity was actually helping them win business. This combined with the fact that November was a record month for semi's and the fact that LSI has product in all the hot areas--DVD, storage, wireless, playstation, servers, set-top boxes, internet equipment--suggests that LSI is going to significantly beat expectations when they announce this month and have an excellent outlook. This combined with the fact that LSI's valuation is not out of whack makes me think we ought to trend up from here.
