Thread: OTOT Withdraw from IRA early, no penalty.

1999 was a good year for me (because of my membership in SI). I have elected to retire early by taking Substantially Equal Periodic Payments from my Traditional IRA. I mention this because some here may have overlooked this option and could benefit from it.

This probably works best for someone about 50 or older, with an IRA getting into 7 figures. Example: 1 mil, 53 yrs, up to approx $87,000 per year.

Different methods, interest rates, and life expectancies make this vary widely. See The Retire Early Home Page, geocities.com

Thanks for a 'tough' thread.

Frank
